    Nah.
I'm back at work and not completely over the sickness. Meanwhile, at least two others here are currently going through the same thing and have had to call in.

I played guitar for many hours last night which was great. I worked on some songs then switched over to just playing along to some songs. I got stuck on disc two of Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series Vol. 8: Tell-Tale Signs. I kept on playing along to the live version of "Ring Them Bells" and the second alternate version of "Mississippi". I just kept doing those two songs over and over again. A lot of fun and a lot of room to improvise.

I am still awfully scatter-brained due to the sickness. Bleh. I feel very confused and weak, yet, fat. And tired. Very tired.

And I appear to have very little to say.

    Planet Dammit
Not feeling great, I was allowed to leave work a little early. I had been working with Jen who is about as awesome of a coworker as you could ever imagine. I don't know too many people who have their shit together like her, yet, seems very at peace with everything and isn't a complete bore. (Of course, she rarely ever gets a shift- must be too reliable, ehh?)

I went out and got Su a late X-mas present. I got some cables from the guitar store and picked up the Mr. Show DVDs we didn't have which will surely elevate me to a new and wonderful status as a husband.

I bought the All Tomorrow's Parties docu and only meant to watch a bit- but I ended up watching the whole thing. Gosh, I sure hope I can play ATP some day.

Now I am getting ready to go out the door to go see Planet Louisville- a docu/film-type thing that was made by a BMX champ from here in town. It has a Phantom Family Halo video in it and the whole thing is dedicated to Tony Bailey.

I am off tomorrow. I didn't know that. Awesome.

    Post-mas
I am suffering a sick stomach this morning so this will be short.........

I had a dream the other night that somebody was trying to burn down my father's house so I was seriously having to consider shooting the offender. I remember thinking long and hard about the fact that if I shoot this person, he will likely die. I also had the awareness enough to remember that it would be entirely legal (in Kentucky, anyways) to shoot somebody who is trying to set fire to your property. Fun fact, y'all.

Christmas was very nice down at the in-law's place. I spent a few hours watching "Stephen Fry in America" which was awesome, as expected.
I had to drive back to Louisville in the evening. I went by Dom's place for his party but I knew that I had to be in bed at a decent hour to be here at work. So I was no fun.
I did have a good time though. We watched Don Johnson's video album "Heartbeat" which...my god...I had no idea. Part "Apocalypse Now", part "Tron", part "2001", part...COCAINE- it was something to behold. Willie Nelson, David Carradine, Paul Schaeffer(sp?), and others had cameos. Unreal.
This is the video for the title song which doesn't show everything this "film" has to offer. But you get a light dose.

I felt rotten last night and worse now. It kept me from sleeping much. I may go home early.

    Late Lee
    Howdy.

It's been a busy week since returning from tour. I went right back into work which has been pretty busy even with the holiday season (which usually impairs occupancy).

While I was gone the landlord sent an e-mail about different ways we could buy the house through various avenues of assistance: Urban League, the city, etc...which all seems nice until I got to the last part(s) of the e-mail where says we have until February to decide. He wants to put it up for sale in the spring. Ugggghhh.
Oh, and did I mention that the price is about 30% more than it should be?
So color me bummed. I really love this place. Jessica does, too, though every other day she wants to move. And then stay. Then move. Then paint the living room. The she wants to move. Then she wants Indian food. Then she wants to rearrange furniture....

So I dunno. I have contacted two real estate friends. I have a loan officer contact as well. I am working "this" side while Jessica is looking around for potential homes for us to buy/rent for a decent price. I can't imagine wanting to own anything else though. Bleh.

Last night I went over to Neal's as we began recording Phantom Family Halo material. I am not accustomed to things moving forward so well, consitantly, and it still be enjoyable. The whole time I was telling Jessica "Yeah, we probably won't do anything tonight. Let's go see a movie when I leave."
But, we did get started. We laid down some drum tracks and had a grand old time. We're starting with a couple of PFH songs that predate my joining the group. But we've been doing them and, naturally, a lot of changes happened.
We were talking about how awesome Yoko Ono is (seriously) and Dom said "Man, we should cover a Yoko song on the next record." I think the first one suggested was "Walking On Thin Ice" and away we went. We decided to erase any trace of the dancy/80's/funky vibe to it. We wanted to neuter it like a Wire song or a Krautrock jam. I ended up playing bass as Corey wasn't there. A lot of fun.
(You have to realize the power of the moment when everybody in a room all likes/loves Yoko. Something magical has to happen when the stars align in such a fashion.)

So, tonight I need to stop by the Black Diamond Heavies show to see Brett as he wants to give me back my Scott Walker DVD. We were going to record some more. Jessica and want to see "Me and Orson Welles"...hope we can tonight but the proverbial plate may be too full.

I just realized my tour diary isn't all posted. I dunno if I have the patience to remedy that at the moment.
